Often, the very things that you think have disqualified you
are the ones that qualify you to do what God has called you to do.Christine Caine
I was born in Austin, Texas, and spent fifteen years growing up in Hong Kong before returning to the States to attend Baylor University. After six years in the corporate world, I followed God’s call into ministry. I earned a master’s degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary and served for twelve years as lead pastor of Newsong Dallas, a church whose mission was to reach the misfits, the marginalized, and the prodigals of our city.
In time, God led me in a direction I didn’t expect. I transitioned out of full-time ministry and into real estate with Keller Williams Realty.
The season after Newsong was the most difficult of my life. I had lived for years with a strong sense of purpose, and suddenly I felt unhinged from my calling. Each day felt like drifting, without a clear sense of direction. Yet God was gracious. He surrounded me with an incredible tribe at Keller Williams Dallas Preston Road, and that community became my sanctuary in the wilderness.
While at Keller Williams, I became certified by Keller Williams University to teach, with a particular desire to teach Quantum Leap, a course that helps people develop a personal mission statement and lead their lives intentionally rather than simply accept them. Through that work, I rediscovered my own purpose and mission.
Looking back on every chapter of my journey, from Baylor to the corporate world, from ministry to business ownership, I can see one consistent thread. God has always given me a deep desire to pursue His calling and to live intentionally rather than by default. Books like Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby, Visioneering by Andy Stanley, and Intentional Living by John Maxwell helped shape who I am today.
2:10 Life emerged from my own story and the ups and downs of living out the call God has placed on my life. Today, my passion is to bring hope to those struggling with pain and brokenness, and to help them find redemption and restoration to the purposes God has for them, so they can live out their calling with intention and conviction
